Medan, December 2, 2024 – As a form of concern for communities affected by disasters, Harper Wahid Hasyim Medan conducted a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative by distributing aid to flood victims in Medan Labuhan District. The aid was delivered at the Masjid Taqwa evacuation site and the Pekan Labuhan Sub-District Office, which currently serve as shelters for 35 displaced residents from Jalan Kol Yos Sudarso KM 19.5, Gang Swadaya LK 16, Pekan Labuhan, Medan Labuhan District.
The flooding that struck Medan City on November 27, 2024, was caused by heavy rainfall and strong winds, leading to the overflow of three major rivers—Deli River, Babura River, and Sei Belawan River. As a result, the disaster continued to spread, affecting 10 districts, with Medan Labuhan experiencing a significant impact.
Harper Wahid Hasyim Medan provided essential food supplies, including rice, cooking oil, instant noodles, and other basic necessities. This initiative reflects the company's commitment to supporting the community during emergencies and making a meaningful contribution to those in need.
