During Ramadan, Harper Perintis Makassar is offering hundreds of menu items that guests can enjoy as much as they want for just IDR 125,000 per person. Unlike the previous year, when the hotel featured a Nusantara (Indonesian archipelago) menu theme, this year’s theme highlights live food stalls. One of the main highlights of this year’s Ramadan menu is kambing guling (roast lamb).
What makes it special is that the kambing guling is prepared through live cooking by Harper Perintis Makassar’s chefs. Other menu items include nasi kebuli ayam (spiced rice with chicken), mie lamian (hand-pulled noodles), meatballs, sesame fried chicken, sweet and sour fish, and capcay (stir-fried mixed vegetables).
A variety of traditional Indonesian desserts, such as kolak (sweet coconut milk dessert) and porridge, are also available. The kolak selection includes banana, candil (sweet glutinous rice balls), sweet potato, cassava, and palm fruit. As for porridge, guests can enjoy bubur sumsum (rice flour pudding), bubur mutiara (sago pearl porridge), black sticky rice porridge, mung bean porridge, and purple sweet potato candil.
An assortment of desserts is also provided, including fresh fruits, traditional cakes, puddings, and traditional iced desserts. There are also fried snacks freshly prepared at the iftar area, such as fried cassava, bananas, vegetable fritters (bakwan), stuffed pancakes (martabak), tahu gejrot (tofu in spicy sauce), and kebabs.
Executive Chef of Harper Perintis Makassar, Haris Zestya, stated that this year’s iftar package has been designed to offer a unique experience. The introduction of kambing guling ensures that guests can enjoy a Middle Eastern ambiance while breaking their fast.
“We are featuring kambing guling to enhance the Ramadan atmosphere with a Middle Eastern touch,” Haris said after the press conference. He also mentioned that the hotel offers over 200 iftar menu options in total.
“We are focusing on fresh dishes. The highlights include kambing guling, pasta, spaghetti, and lamian noodles as an alternative to traditional mie ayam (chicken noodles),” Haris added.
A Top Choice for Makassar Residents
Harper Makassar’s General Manager, Agus Sunaryo, hopes that the Pak Hamdan or Paket Harper Menu Ramadan will be a top choice for Makassar residents during iftar.
“Hopefully, this package will become the main choice for breaking the fast,” he expressed.
Similarly, Harper Perintis Makassar’s Food & Beverage Manager, Fiko Tandapangi, stated that the hotel is ready to serve guests who wish to break their fast. The hotel has prepared various dining areas, including the restaurant, outdoor spaces, and the ballroom.
