Fire is one of the most serious threats to building safety, particularly in hotels, where large numbers of people are present daily. Aware of this risk, Harper Malioboro Yogyakarta remains committed to ensuring the safety of both guests and employees. As part of this commitment, the hotel hosted a fire mitigation training session in collaboration with the Yogyakarta Fire Department on Monday, October 7, 2024, attended by the entire hotel staff. This initiative aims to further improve the readiness and quick response of employees in case of a fire emergency, while reinforcing the hotel’s safety standards.

The fire mitigation training was led by experts from the Yogyakarta Fire Department, including Mr. Hermawan, who discussed building protection, Mr. Timur, who covered Emergency Response Management, Mr. Ahmad, who provided training on the use of breathing apparatus, and Mr. Edy, who led the fire drill simulation. The hotel staff was not only equipped with theoretical knowledge but also underwent practical training, which included checking and announcing emergency procedures, evacuating victims, patrolling public areas, room corridors, and evacuation routes, practicing the use of fire extinguishers (APAR), and using breathing apparatus, as well as high-pressure water spraying techniques.
