Palembang, August 26, 2024 – As part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) commitment, Harper Palembang proudly conducted an outreach program titled “Harper Goes To School” at Sekayu Vocational High School Number 1. The event was attended by key members of Harper Palembang’s Head of Department (HOD) team, including the General Manager, Front Office Manager, HR Coordinator, Assistant Food & Beverage Manager, and Marketing Communicator.

The event was officially opened by Harper Palembang’s General Manager, who delivered an insightful presentation on leadership and overcoming challenges in the professional world, particularly within the hospitality industry. In his opening remarks, he emphasized that strong leadership and the ability to face challenges head-on are crucial to success, especially for students preparing to enter the workforce.

Following the opening, the discussion shifted to the topic of Providing Excellent Service in the Hotel Industry. The students were given a comprehensive overview of the high standards of service expected in the hospitality sector. Additionally, the participants were introduced to Archipelago International, the hotel group that manages Harper Palembang and is one of the largest and fastest-growing hotel networks in Southeast Asia. This provided the students with a broader understanding of career opportunities in hospitality and the working culture upheld by Archipelago International globally.

The event concluded with an interactive session where students had the opportunity to engage directly with Harper Palembang’s professionals. The enthusiasm of the students was evident as they posed numerous questions, all of which were answered with enthusiasm and clarity by the speakers.

To further encourage participation, Harper Palembang also distributed exciting door prizes, adding an extra layer of fun and motivation for the attendees.

The “Harper Goes To School” program aims to inspire and motivate the students of SMK Negeri 1 Sekayu to continuously develop themselves and adequately prepare for their future careers.
